Implementasi Metode Quantum Reading dalam Meningkatkan Minat Membaca Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam pada Siswa Kelas V Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Al Fikri Buton Tengah

Abstract

This study aims to improve students’ reading interest in Islamic Cultural History (Sejarah Kebudayaan Islam/SKI) learning through the implementation of the Quantum Reading method. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles involving 9 fifth-grade students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Swasta Al-Fikri Buton Tengah. Data collection techniques included achievement tests, observation, and documentation to obtain comprehensive information about students’ participation, reading activity, and learning progress during the instructional process. The data were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods by comparing students’ learning outcomes in each stage of the action. The results of the study show that the application of the Quantum Reading method was able to improve students’ reading interest and learning outcomes. In the pre-cycle stage, the average score of students was only 44.4%, then increased in Cycle I, first meeting, to 61.11%, and further increased in the second meeting to 72.22%. These findings indicate that Quantum Reading provides an engaging learning strategy that helps students read more actively, understand SKI material better, and participate more confidently in classroom activities through structured reading activities.
