Abstract

Television infotainment programs require strategies in presenting issues to attract viewers attention amidst the intense competition in digital dan television media. This study aims to analyze the strategies used by the Starpro infotainment program in determining and packaging issues to attract viewers attention and to identify the role of internal media actors in this process. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method th   6rough observation, literature review, and in-depth interviews with executive producer, producer, associate producer, gathering team, and editor as research informants. This study analyzed using agenda setting theory and news flow theory. The results of the study indicate that Starpro applies strategies in determining and packaging issues by highlighting topics that have high attention value, adapting the content of the program to the characteristics of the audience, and packaging attractive audio-visual to retain viewers on television. The novelty of this study lies in the analyze of the internal processes of infotainment media, which are analyzed through the role of internal media actors and program presentation strategies in maintaining television audience interest. The findings in this study indicate tahe the strategy in determining and packaging issues in Starpro infotainment program is not only influenced by the virality of an issue, but also by the editorial process and the role of internal media actors in attracting audinece attention.
