Abstract

The disparity in visitor distribution and low tourist visitation at the Sangiran Museum, particularly in the Manyarejo Cluster, pose significant challenges to the sustainable management of this World Cultural Heritage site. This study aims to formulate strategies to increase visitation through the integration of spatial analysis (Geographic Information Systems) and non-spatial analysis (IFAS-EFAS Matrix). Using a quantitative descriptive approach, a sample of 100 respondents was drawn from the total population of the area, which consists of 90,819 tourists, with a margin of error of 10%. The results of the internal and external factor evaluation matrix place the cluster’s tourism position in Quadrant I (Progressive Strategy) with coordinates (+0.584; +0.812). This position indicates that the destination’s internal strengths are highly capable of capitalizing on external opportunities. The formulated strategic direction includes spatial interventions such as prioritizing improvements to connecting road infrastructure and adding signage to trigger a spillover effect of tourists from the main cluster, as well as non-spatial interventions through the digitization of attractions to drive viral marketing (Word of Mouth). The implementation of this integrated spatial and managerial strategy directly contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 8 through the creation of sustainable tourism that drives local economic growth, as well as Goal 9 regarding the enhancement of infrastructure resilience.
