Osteoarthritis genu is a degenerative joint disease influenced by mechanical and metabolic factors. A high body mass index (BMI) increases intra-articular loading, whereas serum calcium reflects mineral homeostasis related to bone health. To analyze the association between BMI and serum calcium levels among patients with osteoarthritis genu at Larasati Posyandu, Dukuh Kupang, Surabaya. This analytic observational study used a cross-sectional design and was conducted in January 2026 among 30 female respondents aged 35-75 years who were diagnosed with osteoarthritis genu and selected through purposive sampling. BMI was calculated from measured body weight and height, while serum calcium was measured using spectrophotometry. The Shapiro-Wilk normality test was followed by Pearson correlation analysis. Most respondents were aged 46-57 years (53.3%). The most frequent BMI categories were overweight and obesity, each comprising 10 respondents (33.3%). All respondents had normal serum calcium levels (8.5-10.5 mg/dL). Pearson analysis showed a weak, non-significant negative correlation between BMI and serum calcium (r = -0.250; p = 0.183). There was no significant association between BMI and serum calcium levels among patients with osteoarthritis genu. BMI monitoring remains important as a mechanical risk indicator, whereas a single serum calcium measurement should not be used as a standalone marker of osteoarthritis genu.
