Abstract

This study examined the effect of ergonomic interventions on reducing occupational risk and improving productivity at Rumah Hawwa using observations, interviews, RULA–REBA assessments, and statistical analysis. The results showed that the ergonomic interventions reduced postural risk from a very high to a low category and decreased musculoskeletal complaints. Productivity increased across all work activities, namely cutting (7.50 to 13.75 units/hour), sewing (1.25 to 6.01 units/hour), and assembling (17.75 to 30.63 units/hour). The Shapiro–Wilk and paired t-test results (p < 0.05) confirmed that the implemented interventions had a significant effect on improving worker comfort and productivity. Thus, the application of ergonomics can be a strategic approach in reducing work risks while increasing the effectiveness of the production process at Rumah Hawwa. Consistent implementation of improvements is also expected to support the creation of a healthier work environment, reduce the potential for fatigue, maintain the quality of production results, and improve the sustainability of business performance through optimal utilization of human resources in the long term.
