Abstract

The availability of productive land that can support food needs and population activities is an important indicator in assessing the environmental carrying capacity of an area. Cilimus District, as one of the areas directly adjacent to the Mount Ciremai National Park area, faces challenges in maintaining a balance between population growth and land capacity. This study aims to analyze environmental carrying capacity based on land productivity by comparing land needs and availability. The method used is a quantitative approach by calculating land needs in 2024 of 243.68 hectares and projected needs in 2034 of 309.44 hectares as a form of protection for needs for the next 10 years. The availability of productive land in this area was recorded at 1,237.5 hectares. The results of the analysis show that Cilimus District is in a condition of surplus land carrying capacity. Thus, the available land is still adequate to meet current and future needs. These results indicate that this area has the potential to support sustainable land use, as long as it is managed optimally and sustainably.
