Abstract

The development of social media has increased the use of audiovisual content as an effective communication medium, especially on Instagram through video-based content. The Instagram account @tspsquad_ owned by The Sounds Project and Co developed creative video interview content to present community members’ stories and experiences in a more personal and communicative way. However, abrupt visual transitions and inconsistent editing rhythm may reduce audience focus. This study aims to analyze the implementation of continuity editing techniques in creative video interview content on the Instagram account @tspsquad_. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a project-based research method, where the researcher was directly involved as the editor during post-production. Data were collected through observation, documentation, and literature review. The analysis referred to the Attentional Theory of Cinematic Continuity (AToCC). The results show that continuity editing was implemented through the use of B-roll, cutaway shots, matching action, and editing pacing to maintain visual, audio, and narrative continuity. These techniques created smoother shot transitions, improved viewing comfort, and supported visual storytelling. Based on the AToCC analysis, continuity editing successfully maintained audience attention through consistent visual focus and editing rhythm.
