Hubungan Dukungan Keluarga terhadap Tingkat Kecemasan pada Pasien Pre Operatif dengan Tindakan Spinal Anestesi di RSUD Cut Meutia

Family support is one of the key factors in reducing anxiety levels in preoperative patients, particularly those undergoing spinal anesthesia. Families serve as the primary support system in addressing health issues through emotional support. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family support and anxiety levels in preoperative patients undergoing spinal anesthesia at Cut Meutia General Hospital. This study employed a descriptive-analytical method with a cross-sectional approach. Sampling was conducted using accidental sampling with a minimum sample size of 100 respondents. Based on the analysis results, respondents were predominantly in the age group over 55 years (57%) and male (53%). Most respondents had never undergone surgery (53%) and had a high school education as their highest level of education (37%). The results of the study indicate that the majority of respondents received high levels of family support (55%). Regarding anxiety levels, most respondents experienced moderate anxiety (44%), followed by mild anxiety (29%) and severe anxiety (22%). The results of the Spearman Rank correlation test showed a p-value of 0.001 (p < 0.05) with a correlation coefficient (r) of -0.769, indicating a significant negative relationship between family support and anxiety levels. The conclusion of this study is that there is a significant relationship, characterized by a moderate correlation and a negative direction, between family support and anxiety levels in preoperative patients undergoing spinal anesthesia at Cut Meutia General Hospital. This indicates that the higher the level of family support received by patients, the lower their anxiety levels will be prior to surgery.
