Background: Life expectancy among older adults continues to increase each year in many countries, including Indonesia. As people age, older adults experience a decline in bodily functions and various physiological changes that may affect balance, mobility, and functional ability. These conditions increase the risk of falls, which can lead to a reduced quality of life, injuries, and even disability. Therefore, effective preventive interventions are needed to reduce the risk of falls among older adults. Objective: To analyze the effect of side steps exercise with musical rhythm on the risk of falls among older adults. Methods: This study employed a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The intervention was conducted twice a week for four weeks from March to April 2026 and involved 30 respondents. Fall risk was assessed using the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT), while data were analyzed using the paired-sample t-test. Results: The findings showed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.005), indicating that side steps exercise with musical rhythm had a significant effect on reducing the risk of falls among older adults. Conclusion: Side steps exercise with musical rhythm is effective in reducing the risk of falls among older adults.
