Analisis Risiko Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja pada Divisi Inner Plastik Karung di PT Murni Mapan Makmur menggunakan Metode HIRARC

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is essential for preventing workplace accidents and improving productivity in manufacturing industries. This study examines OHS hazards in the inner plastic sack production division at PT. Murni Mapan Makmur using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method. The novelty of this research lies in the application of HIRARC specifically to the inner plastic sack production process, providing a more relevant risk profile for the plastic sack manufacturing industry. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis included hazard identification, risk assessment based on likelihood and severity, and the formulation of risk control measures. The findings identified 16 workplace hazards across the production stages of mixing, melting and blowing, rolling, and cutting and packing, originating from unsafe conditions and unsafe actions. Risk assessment showed that 6 hazards (37.5%) were classified as high risk, 7 (43.75%) as moderate risk, and 3 (18.75%) as low risk. Major risk factors included inadequate use of personal protective equipment (PPE), the absence of safe boundaries between machines and workers, and repetitive manual material handling. Recommended controls include installing machine guards, establishing safe work zones, providing material-handling aids, implementing standard operating procedures, conducting regular OHS training, and improving PPE compliance. The study concludes that HIRARC effectively identifies workplace hazards and supports the development of structured OHS policies to reduce accident risks and create a safer, healthier, and more productive working environment.
