Abstract

This study aims to redesign the user interface of the Asset Monitoring Information System (SIMODAS) using the Goal Directed Design (GDD) method to improve usability and system effectiveness. User needs were analyzed through observations and interviews with four user roles, followed by the development of user journeys and identification of issues within the existing interface. Based on these findings, a new interface design was developed featuring a clearer navigation structure, improved dashboard layout, and additional features such as asset borrowing and maintenance history. The implementation of the new design focused on enhancing user workflow efficiency and visual clarity. Usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) produced a score of 90.96, categorized as Excellent, indicating that the redesigned interface significantly enhances user experience and system effectiveness. The study concludes that the GDD approach successfully improves the quality of the user interface and can serve as a reference for future asset information system development in government institutions.
