Komunikasi Persuasif Kepala Desa dalam Konflik Agraria di Desa Teluk Raya Kecamatan Kumpeh Ulu Kabupaten Muaro Jambi

Abstract

The agrarian conflict in Teluk Raya Village, Kumpeh Ulu District, Muaro Jambi Regency, is a prolonged issue involving the village community and a palm oil plantation company. In resolving this conflict, the village head plays an important role as a local actor who bridges the interests of the various parties through a communication approach. This study aims to analyze the application of persuasive communication styles by the village head in efforts to resolve the agrarian conflict. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and literature study. The results show that the village head consistently applies persuasive communication by adjusting messages based on the audience's characteristics, opening space for community participation through deliberation, and gradually strengthening the community's beliefs. Additionally, the village head also manages the gradual change in the community's attitude to achieve a better agreement. This persuasive communication style successfully mitigates the escalation of conflict, builds trust among the parties involved, and creates a more conducive space for dialogue to resolve the agrarian issue.
