Analisis Perbandingan Kinerja Keuangan sebelum dan sesudah Akuisisi pada PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk Tahun 2019-2024

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the differences in financial performance before and after the acquisition of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk in 2019-2024. The company's financial performance is analyzed with liquidity, solvency, and profitability ratios. This study uses a quantitative method with a comparative approach. The data used is secondary data obtained from the financial statements of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk from the 2019-2024 period. The data obtained were then analyzed by the Shapiro-Wilk  normality test, and  the Paired Sample t-Test with the help of  SPSS software. The results showed that only the Return on Assets (ROA) variable showed a significant difference, between before and after the acquisition, with a significance value of 0.041 < 0.05. Meanwhile, other variables, namely Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, and Return to Equity, did not show significant differences. The results of the study show that the acquisition strategy implemented by the company has not been fully successful in significantly improving all aspects of financial performance, but it has a positive impact on the company's ability to generate profits through the utilization of the company's assets.
