Hordeolum is an acute infection of the eyelid glands characterized by pain, hyperemia, and localized edema. A preliminary survey at Waled Regional General Hospital in 2024–2025 identified 146 patients with hordeolum. Aim: To describe the characteristics of patients with hordeolum based on age, sex, and location. Methods: This study used a descriptive observational design with a retrospective approach. Secondary data were obtained from the medical records of patients with hordeolum at the Eye Clinic of Waled Regional General Hospital from January 2024 to December 2025. Samples were selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 58 patients. Data were analyzed univariately and presented as frequency distributions and percentages. Results: Most patients with hordeolum were adults aged 18–59 years, accounting for 67.2% of the total sample. Based on sex, female patients were more common than male patients, accounting for 58.6% and 41.4%, respectively. Based on anatomical location, hordeolum was most frequently found in the upper eyelid at 62.1%, followed by the lower eyelid at 32.8%, while involvement of both eyelids was found in 5.2% of patients. Conclusion: The characteristics of patients with hordeolum at Waled Regional General Hospital during 2024–2025 were predominantly adults, female, and most commonly affected in the upper eyelid. These findings are expected to provide baseline data for evaluating eye health services, supporting promotive and preventive efforts through eyelid hygiene education, and serving as a reference for further studies on the risk factors and characteristics of hordeolum.
