Abstract

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a student-centered learning method widely implemented in medical education to develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and self-directed learning. Evaluation of the implementation of this method is important to be carried out by measuring student satisfaction levels as one of the quality indicators of the learning process. This research aims to analyze student satisfaction levels with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method. The type of research is descriptive with a cross-sectional design. The population in this study was all active students of the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, totaling 247 people, with a stratified random sampling technique, resulting in a sample of 153 people. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire sheet. This research was conducted at the Medical Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Abulyatama University on 23-27 June 2026. Data analysis involves determining the frequency and percentage for each research variable. The research results show that the level of student satisfaction with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method was mostly in the satisfied category with 91 respondents (59.5%), very satisfied with 61 respondents (39.9%), and dissatisfied with 1 respondent (0.6%). Student satisfaction levels consist of the quality of tutorial cases, the group discussion process, the role of lecturers or facilitators, the development of thinking skills, the learning outcomes achieved, and the support of facilities and learning resources. This study concludes that the majority of student satisfaction levels are satisfied with the Problem Based Learning (PBL) method at the Faculty of Medicine, Abulyatama University.
