Literature Review : Penerapan Lean Six Sigma dalam Mengurangi Pemborosan dan Meningkatkan Efisiensi Sistem Logistik Kesehatan

The healthcare logistics system plays a crucial role in supporting effective service delivery; however, various forms of operational waste still frequently occur in the field. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing the Lean Six Sigma method in reducing waste and enhancing logistics system efficiency within healthcare facilities through a literature review approach. Data sources were gathered from reputable scientific articles indexed in the PubMed, Garuda, and Neliti databases, with publication dates limited to 2021–2026. The review of ten selected articles indicates that the most dominant types of waste are defects, waiting, and inventory, particularly within critical units such as the pharmacy department. Implementing Lean Six Sigma through the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) phases has proven effective in optimizing distribution flows, improving inventory management, cutting operational costs, and boosting patient satisfaction. In conclusion, Lean Six Sigma is a strategic and comprehensive approach to building an efficient and sustainable healthcare logistics system, although its success heavily relies on management commitment and thorough integration across service units.
