Abstract

Elderly is a group of people over 60 years old which is one of the phases that all humans go through. In this phase there will also be various complex problems, especially falls. Falls are the main cause and often cause morbidity and mortality, especially in the elderly over 65 years. The purpose of this study was to see the effectiveness of reducing the risk of falling by implementing the Otago Exercise Program in the elderly. The method used is a case study conducted in February 2023. The duration of the Otago Exercise intervention is 3x a week for 2 weeks. Based on the results of the EOP implementation, it was found that there was a decrease in the Morse Fall Scale value from 90 to 75 (high risk category of falling). There was also a decrease in the TUG value before and after the exercise was carried out. In conclusion, the application of the Otago Exercise Program can reduce the risk of falling in the elderly.
