Penerapan Terapi Permainan Kartu Kuartet untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Sosial pada Pasien Isolasi Sosial dengan Skizofrenia di Panti Gramesia Cirebon

Abstract

Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder that affects an individual’s thought processes, emotions, behavior, and social interaction skills. One common issue is social isolation, a condition in which patients withdraw from others and experience difficulties communicating. Data from the Gramesia Care Facility in Cirebon Regency for 2024-2025 indicate that there are 25 patients with social isolation issues. One intervention that can be used to improve patients’ socialization skills is quartet card game therapy. This study employs a quantitative descriptive method with a case study approach based on Evidence-Based Nursing Practice (EBNP) for one schizophrenia patient experiencing social isolation. Data collection was conducted through observation, therapeutic interviews, medical record documentation, and measurement using the Social Functioning Scale (SFS) via pre-test and post-test. The intervention was conducted over four consecutive days, with each session lasting 20-30 minutes. The results showed an improvement in the patient’s socialization skills, marked by an increase in the SFS score from 23 to 33. The patient also began to make eye contact, interact with the group, and initiate spontaneous communication. Quartet card game therapy was found to be effective in creating a supportive and enjoyable atmosphere to improve the socialization skills of patients with schizophrenia and social isolation.
